Writing Related ListDuotrope's Digest has a large database of current markets for short fiction, poetry, and novels/collections. Membership is free, though most of the information I see is US based. If you are a writer (aspiring or otherwise) and you want to know what is going on in the writer's market, click on the banner below to join, or just to visit. ![]() For those of you who are crazy about reading, and is more than willing to try out new writers, especially if the materials are free, check out Jennifer L. Armstrong's list. You will love Free-Online-Novels. Some novels are in PDF form while others are linked to the site, but all are categorised according to genre. If you like culture and history, my recommendation is to start with Jennifer's own Last King of Damascus. Then again, there is so much materials in here, you might want to read something else first. Love writing short stories but having problems getting the formula right? Then you might want to consider visiting Robert Raymer's site to get some fresh ideas. He lives and writes in Malaysia, and if he ever drops by your place for one of his workshops, call in immediately to book a seat. If you plan to start a professional blog then I suggest you visit Copyblogger for great copywriting tips. Finally found a site that doesn't just give out tips for attracting traffic, but also tests out those rules that they listed at Webnet77. Browsing around for an English or Math tuition program? If you are looking for something that caters to your child's existing ability and wants him to achieve mastery at each level of progress, then I would like to recommend the Kumon program for you. Visit the Kumon Centre in Sibu to get an idea of how the program has helped some of their students. Online Tutorials ListI have never been one who do things the easy way. If you are like me, and you want to build your own webpage from scratch, here are a few sites that I have tried, tested and kept going back to for codes. I hope you will find them useful too. HTML Tutorials - Use these codes to create links, show graphics and attract search engines. Some special fonts, such as ©, will not show on certain browsers unless you use the HTML code © This tutorial is good for trouble-shooting such glitches. Javascript Tutorials - helps you to set up a few neat stuff like calculators, counters and random quotes (my homepage produces a new quote or image each time you refresh). I also use it to standardize the top and bottom links in my articles and stories pages, which saves me a ton of work since I don't have to update every single page each time I have to add or take out anything. CSS Tutorials - helps to standardize the format of your pages and reduce the html codes you need to put into those same pages. That means that if I am sick of using Arial fonts I can change the CSS external code, and the change will be reflected in all my articles and stories without me having to go into each and every one in turn. Research and Information ListI love data; I can't seem to get enough of them. The Bank Negara Malaysia Statistics page contains its own stuff as well as links to other related sites, like the KLSE and Treasury Department. I also like the Sarawak Forestry Department's website. No frills, just facts. Visit if you are interested to know more about protected fauna and flora in Sarawak. The jungle is a huge resource for the state, hence don't be surprise to see topics concerning reforestation or timber related industries. Interested to learn about the different forms of Gawai Burong in Sarawak? Visit Gregory's beautiful site. Some comments and articles are in Iban. Can't get enough reading materials? Looking for outdated classics? Or just interested to know how people from a century ago articulate themselves? Then you should visit the Gutenberg Project. Just for Fun ListInterested to know more about the anime and manga craze? You can read reviews and updates at Ayumikat's Brownie Post. This blog is especially useful for anime newbies. I also contribute my tuppence on movies and books under the name gaotamao. Watch my first video clip attempt in YouTube. A bit rough on the edges but would love to get comments.
